Our Responsibility for the Future – The Federal Election and Berlin's Role

An important event is approaching across Germany: the federal election on 23 February 2025.

At a time when the world is becoming increasingly uncertain and unsettled, taking responsibility and actively participating in shaping our future is more important than ever.

Especially in Berlin, one of the world's most multicultural cities, each of us has the opportunity to help determine how the political landscape will develop.

Berlin as a Reflection of Germany

Berlin is not only Germany's capital but also the heart of an open-minded and diverse society.

Around 3.8 million people live in Berlin. More than 810,000 foreign nationals from 170 countries have made the city their home.

This diversity makes Berlin a microcosm of what is possible throughout Germany: a society united by cultural diversity, tolerance and mutual respect.

But Berlin is more than just a melting pot of cultures.

Our city represents values that should also guide the country as a whole – freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

These principles cannot be taken for granted, and we must continually work to protect them.

The Significance of the 2025 Federal Election

On 23 February 2025, eligible voters across Germany will have the opportunity to help shape the country's political direction for the years ahead.

The federal election is a decisive moment for influencing the nation's political future.

We have a say in how our country will navigate an increasingly globalised and complex world.

Especially in times of political uncertainty and growing social inequality, it is essential that we, as a society, stand up for democracy and the fundamental rights of all citizens.

Voting is one of the most important ways to take responsibility and help ensure that Germany remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to live in freedom and prosperity.

Our Responsibility to Society

This is not only about political interests but also about preserving the intercultural values that are essential to our city's success.

We live in a society that is constantly changing, and the challenge for all of us is to actively ensure that these changes remain consistent with our values of democracy and human dignity.

We must continue working towards a society in which everyone, regardless of their origins or background, has the opportunity to develop their potential and achieve their goals.

Go Out and Vote – Take Responsibility

Every vote counts and can contribute to ensuring that Germany remains a country where freedom, tolerance and diversity are valued in the years to come.

If we want to protect and strengthen our democracy, we must participate in elections.

Go out and vote. Make your voice heard for a strong, democratic and open-minded Germany.
